Clean New Year? and Christmas is over!

December 27th, 2008 at 06:03 pm

I'm wondering if anyone has tried the homemade laundry soaps? I have seen several recipes online, and I've been tempted to try them. We have a lot of laundry, and though I shop carefully, and use detergent minimally in my high efficiency top-loader, I might be able to save a little there. My biggest concern is the effect on the clothes... I mean I don't want any of the really nice articles of clothing to be ruined.

We had such a relaxing holiday, it is unbelievable. We had dinner with family on Christmas Eve, which was great. It was not at our house, but we got to see everyone. Christmas Day, we lounged in pajamas, watched movies and played games, and enjoyed each other.

Now I'm gearing up for getting organized in the new year! I LOVE getting things organized, so I'm excited to get going today. We will take the tree and all the decorations down today, because they have been up since the day after Thanksgiving. And then my crazy cleaning and organizing can start!
*clean up tree and decorations
*catch up on laundry
*make a menu for at least two weeks
*review file of financial papers, get
tax items pulled together
*transfer information to new calendar

I have a ham that my family sent home with us because no one else thought they could eat it up (there are six of us and everyone else has smaller families)... Funny, I'm just going to chop it up and get it in the freezer for later! I guess no one thought of that!

And the best thing is that this is the weekend! Happy weekend everyone!
